Volunteering at the Corporate Level

If you are 21 years of age or older, you can volunteer with the HOBY South Dakota Corporate Board.  Individuals must be
able to attend meetings once a month, and must be committed
to bettering the lives of today’s youth.  Contact Cody Siewert

directors, including:

Alumni Advisor – Help to develop an Alumni Association for HOBY South Dakota alumni

CLeW Director – Community Leadership Workshop director – HOBY’s one-day leadership program for high
school first year high school students

At-Large Members – Individuals representing our cooperating and service organizations (Optimist, General Federation of Women’s Club, etc), corporate volunteers, or other individuals interested in helping to better the program are invited to inquire

Volunteering for the 2008 Leadership Seminar

Seminar board members – Directors and committee members are needed to coordinate a variety of different aspects of the seminar, including transportation, recruitment of Ambassadors, fundraising, and program. Positions require attendance at monthly meetings leading up to the seminar and may involve 2-10 hours of work per week.  Creative ideas and input is needed throughout the seminar season, regardless of holding an official position.             Recruitment team – Interested in helping to recruit Ambassadors for the 2008 seminar?

Facilitators – Adult volunteers responsible for facilitating discussions and leadership activities for a group of 10-12 high school sophomores and a junior facilitator. Time commitment includes training approximately one month prior
to the seminar, some correspondence with Ambassadors prior to seminar, and full participation during the seminar weekend 24 hours per day.  Contact facilitator@hobysd.org with questions.

Junior staff – Volunteers complete with their junior year of high school and younger than 21 years of age.  Responsibilities during the seminar may vary from serving as a junior facilitator, to helping with operations, to ensuring a positive mental attitude is maintained throughout the seminar. Preference is given to HOBY alumni
who have completed their 100 Leadership for Service hours and have ensured a sophomore is selected for the
